Rainbow Country Dancers News September 2005

The dancing year has started again and the Rainbow Country Dancers hope all have had a great summer. Our Junefest was a “wet” success, the rain came down and inside we vacuumed up and outside we sloshed around it. All the campers were very resilient, the callers were terrific the dancing and eating was plentiful.

Some of our members attended other club campouts which were relaxing and fun-filled. The club was energetic and entered a float in the parade for Nanton Days and with new decorations of Alberta colors. We were very pleased to receive a Red Ribbon in our category for our music, dancing and cheerfulness. We sincerely hope that the exposure will bring out some new members.

By the time you read this we will have had a great trip to Radium, Sept 9-11 to dance to Rick and Kathy Utter.

We will start dancing on Sept 21st with 3 regular callers on our roster, Palma Heming, Tom Dakers, and Doug Paskal. Claire Burns will also do some fill in calling. We will try to get a schedule to clubs as there are some dates that we will not be dancing at home, but will be doing some weekly club visits.

Mark your calendars for Nov 9 2005 which will be our annual evening of dancing to Allan Swierschke from Central District.

Our reining President Couple are Dan and Serena Smith, with Gary and Joan Cooper sitting in the Vice-President chair.
