Rainbow Country Dancers News February 2005

Here we are back after a very nice holiday break, The weather is cold but the warmth in the Square Dance halls is great. Our evening at the C&D Christmas Party was very enjoyable. A beautiful location, terrific friends, Delicious food a variety of dancing, who could ask for anything else for so little dollars. Thanks to all the planners and workers. We really got to see a Frances Levitt that we didn’t know and thoroughly loved it. This is what traveling, supporting dancing does. A new learning experience every time.

Our club is carrying on with people coming and going. Some new dancers disappearing to other places in their lives, senior dancers going south to where it is warm (who can blame them), illness and family commitments. We really thank the Lethbridge and Calgary dancers for coming out and supporting us. We know what it is to drive the distance.

For those of us who can’t go south there will be a Surf’s up supper and dance on Jan 26 with Clare Burns doing singing calls. If anyone would like to attend just give us a call. Feb 16th we are looking forward to seeing the Queens and Jacks down visiting. Always a fun group.

Last but not least don’t forget to mark the calendar for our annual Junefest, 25th Anniversary Celebration, June 17-19 2005. Callers Rick and Kathy Utter with Gary and Trish Winter.

Have a great 2005. Everyone keep going, doing, and talking Square Dancing so that we can keep this marvelous movement of people afloat. See you across the square and don’t forget those C&D Dances, what a wonderful way to hear new and senior callers.
