Hi-Land Swingers News for April 2004

The time has gone by so fast. It’s hard to believe that we only have a few mainstream dances left. The attendance at all our dances, mainstream and new dancer alike, has been consistently excellent throughout the season. Our new dancers are advancing very well under the guidance of Palma with the help of all the Square Angels who come out week after week. Keep up the great effort. Graduation is rapidly approaching and we look forward to this new group of dancers joining the mainstream ranks in September.

Many of our members who ventured south for a little R&R have started to return to the fold. We received any an update from them during the course of their travels, of course always wishing we were there to enjoy the warmer weather with them. We’re sure many of you will get the opportunity to see some pictures taken during their travels over the coming weeks and months as we come together.

Our annual Chili night is coming up April 28, so be sure to mark your calendars. Tickets are available by advance sale only which can be arranged through the convener couple, Bev & Ken Weaver. It’s sure to be a rousing evening with our guest caller couple, Art and Collette McMullen joining our very own Palma. Look for the poster elsewhere in the Grapevine or under Special Dances on this website.

It’s hard to believe that we are already planning our summer season so it’s appropriate we remind everyone of our Annual Stampede Dance, July 12th. Be sure to make this one of your stops during the annual festivities.

We extend a huge thank you to all those who have helped us during this dance season. The special dance and function conveners, the decorators faithfully led by Charlotte Hawthorne, the kitchen crew, greeters and all the operating committee members. Your dedication year after year never ceases to amaze us.

We extend our sincere best wishes and thoughts to all our club members who are experiencing health challenges in their lives. The Hi-Land Swingers hold you dear in our hearts.

See you across the square.
