January 2006, WOW, and with this weather, WOW AGAIN. In November we celebrated our 50th Anniversary of Square Dancing in Calgary. We had 135 for a sit down, Alberta Beef dinner, with another 35 guests joining us later for some great square dancing. We had past presidents and past callers in attendance and a few square dancers we hadn’t seen in a while. What an evening we had. An evening of great companionship, great dancing, just as square dancing should be.
As Christmas approached we had our Christmas potluck dinner dance with our new dancers. Lots of fantastic food, all diet of course. We had a special visitor, who provided us with all sorts of neat and wonderful surprises. Thanks Santa!
Now we start the downhill run towards spring!!! Where did it go? With this weather I think the Snow Birds could have stayed home.
On the 11th of January we were visited by the Banff Trailers and C & D. We were presented with a lovely certificate from the Canadian Square and Round Dance society. Thank You.
Now it’s back to business with visits and visitations. As our year flies by have a Happy Valentines Day, we look forward to seeing your across the square, real soon.
