A very fun dance season is almost behind us. In
January 11 new Cloggers graduated from the 15 week Thursday night learn to Clog
program. These folks have mostly switched over to the Wednesday night club
level and are getting to know the main group and learning new dances.
Many of us have enjoyed recent workshops at
Holiday Ranch, Lethbridge, Fort Saskatchewan and Didsbury. These workshops are
a terrific place to meet up with Clogging friends, new and old and for learning
new dances. Our club is really lucky as several of our own group, Belinda den
Dekker-Penner, Donna Gardiner and Lorraine Brazeau have choreographed dances.
We are enjoying their teaching and dancing their dances!
The National C.L.O.G. Convention is in Phoenix
Arizona in November 2006 and I’m sure several of us will be going to it.
Dancing at a big national convention like that is an amazing experience. Dance
workshops run for 3 days and also there is a big competition which is really
neat to watch. Even though this is an American convention, many Canadians go to
it. When the convention was in Las Vegas in 2004, the prize for the most
dancers for a state or province was won by Alberta!
Our final night for the season is Wednesday
April 28th at Sunalta. If you have ever wondered about Clogging come
out and take a look.
Start up date in the fall will be Wednesday
September 20th at 7PM at Sunalta.
