Baba’s Rounds Newsletter February 2007

Another year of dancing is just starting. Happy New Year to all! Many of the dancers have gone south and we won’t see them until the wind-up party. The dancers that have decided to grin and bear the cold seem to be having fun with the Rounds.

The phase III class has just started a new rhythm for them, which is Bolero. It is very popular and we hope they will learn to enjoy it. Phase IV have been working on a new little quick step called Light in the Window. Beginners are learning the Two step and Waltz basics to prepare for all the great phase II dances they will be able to enjoy with our Monday morning Phase II class.

We received good news for all Round Dancers from BC Federation. They will be having the first BC Round Dance Festival, all levels in Powell River in September. If you want any info on it let us know and we will email it to you. Sounds like fun and all leaders from here will be going. I know a few dancers planning to go also. Why don’t you join us?

Enjoy the winter wherever you are dancing and we will all look forward to spring!
